Treatment for edentulism – restoration of most or all teeth using implant-supported dentures.
Treatment for edentulism – restoration of most or all teeth using implant-supported dentures. This method of dental restoration creates the appearance of a natural smile and provides a lifelong solution.
The loss of many or all teeth causes significant inconvenience for anyone. Tooth loss not only affects one’s appearance—it also negatively impacts chewing and digestion, and makes speaking difficult.
However, modern dentistry offers a variety of tooth restoration options. At Andziulio Dental Clinic, patients are offered professional treatment for tooth loss—tooth restoration using implant-supported dentures. Currently recognized by dental professionals as the most effective, this method of tooth restoration helps achieve a natural appearance, restore high-quality chewing and bite functions, and ensure complete comfort for the patient.
When edentulism is treated with traditional removable dentures (plates), chewing function is restored by only about 30 percent. Furthermore, these dentures are unstable, less durable, and less comfortable for the patient. As a modern and significantly higher-quality alternative to fully removable dentures, patients are offered edentulism treatment that restores teeth using implant-supported dentures, ensuring not only an excellent aesthetic appearance but also fully restoring the functions performed by natural teeth. With implant-supported dentures, chewing efficiency is restored 100%.
Dental restoration on 2 implants using a Locator system
Those who wish to avoid the inconveniences of removable dentures but do not want to incur high costs can opt for tooth restoration using a locator system. In such cases, two implants are placed in the lower jaw, in the chin area where there is always bone, and a removable denture is secured to them using locators.
Overdentures for the upper jaw are sufficiently stable, so two implants with a locator system are placed only in the lower jaw to improve the stability of the lower removable denture. The fixed denture allows you to speak and eat freely without fear of it falling out. In addition, this type of denture minimally covers the palate and causes almost no unpleasant foreign body sensation in the mouth. This option is characterized by aesthetics, stability, and durability. Furthermore, the denture is easy to maintain because it is removable.
Dental restoration on 4 implants (“All-on-4” technology)
For those seeking permanent, non-removable dentures, we offer the “All-on-4” dental restoration technology. Currently considered the most advanced method for treating edentulism, this technique allows patients to have stable, non-removable teeth by placing 4 implants in a single jaw.
This solution is particularly recommended for patients whose jawbone has begun to deteriorate, as this method usually does not require bone grafting. During a single visit to the dentist, four implants are placed and temporary, natural-looking teeth are attached to them. This treatment method allows patients to immediately return to a full life, chew properly, speak clearly, and smile freely. Later, the temporary prosthesis is replaced with a permanent one, which typically lasts a lifetime. Due to the procedure’s simplicity, safety, and the use of materials well-tolerated by the body, this implantation method can be used for patients of any age who have lost most or all of their teeth.
Dental prosthetics on 6–8 implants (“All-on-6/8” technology)
When the jawbone is edentulous, a fixed prosthesis can be supported by 6, and sometimes 8, implants. The number of implants depends on the patient’s anatomy.
This method of treating edentulism ensures maximum chewing efficiency and aesthetics, as the prosthesis mimics natural teeth with exceptional precision. A temporary prosthesis can be placed immediately after implantation and is later replaced with a permanent one.
Rapidly advancing dentistry offers effective treatments for tooth loss, ensuring better functionality of removable dentures or providing the option of having strong, long-lasting fixed teeth. All tooth restoration options at Andziulio Dental Clinic are discussed during a consultation, and the solution best suited to each patient is selected based on their oral health and financial situation.
