Dental veneers
Dental veneers are thin sheets of porcelain or pressed ceramic.
Dental veneers are thin sheets of porcelain or pressed ceramic. They are applied to the front surface of the teeth. Patients are never disappointed with the results: you’ll be able to enjoy a bright, white smile for many years to come.
Do you feel self-conscious about the color and shape of your teeth every day, but are looking for a less invasive way to improve your smile? You’ll love dental veneers (also known as laminates). These are thin but highly effective porcelain or pressed ceramic shells. Veneers cover the front surface of the tooth. Patients are delighted with the results: you’ll be able to enjoy a smooth, white smile for many years to come.
When should you use laminates?
Veneers are a good choice if the patient’s teeth have discolored, are damaged, or have worn down. They are also a good option when you want to correct the shape of your teeth or close gaps between them. However, if your teeth are severely damaged by decay or a large portion of a tooth is missing, your dentist will recommend a different method of tooth restoration.
The Benefits of Laminates
- Brightens the color of your teeth;
- Straightens teeth and corrects their shape;
- A less invasive method of dental restoration;
- Quick results;
The Process of Dental Veneers
- It all starts with an open conversation. Discuss your desired outcome with your dentist. An experienced specialist will assess the condition of your mouth and teeth. You’ll find out whether dental veneers are truly the best option for achieving the results you want.
- Before placing the veneers, the teeth are prepared for the procedure: their front surfaces are minimally polished. Patients feel no pain because we use local anesthesia. Finally, the dentist takes impressions of the teeth. Based on these, dental technicians will fabricate custom veneers.
- Depending on the number of veneers, the procedure takes 1 to 3 hours. While the dental technicians are preparing the permanent veneers (which takes about 10 days), the dentist will place temporary ones, so you’ll feel comfortable and look great.
- The final step is bonding the finished veneers to the surface of your teeth.
From now on, you can enjoy a smooth, white smile. With proper care, dental veneers will last you for many years.
Try on a smile
When preparing for smile correction, many patients have doubts: will I really like the final result? Don’t let those doubts stand in the way of making your dreams come true! Our goal is to find the best solutions for you, which is why at Andziulio Dental Clinic, you can try on your future smile and assess whether it’s a comfortable and appealing option for you.
The advantages are undeniable:
- You’ll get a clear preview of your future smile
- A realistic feel of the teeth—you can check whether they’ll feel comfortable
- This procedure ensures that the veneers will harmoniously complement your facial features
- Helps prevent potential errors and inaccuracies during the fabrication of the veneers
Let’s talk about how this procedure works:
- Photographs are taken of the patient’s facial features, and precise dental impressions are taken.
- Taking the patient’s wishes into account and after carefully analyzing the unique anatomy of their mouth and face, a team of dentists and dental technicians creates several possible smile designs. The ideal tooth color and shape are selected.
- In the laboratory, 3D printers are used to create templates of the future smile, which you can try on. If you wish, you can even wear the new smile model for 1–2 days. This way, you’ll know for sure if this option is right for you!
- If you’re happy with the smile designed by our dental technicians, we’ll start making the veneers right away.
Rest assured: a smile assessment is a completely safe procedure that does not harm your teeth!
Tips after getting dental veneers:
- For a while after the veneers are placed, your teeth may be more sensitive to hot and cold foods and drinks. This temporary sensitivity is completely normal.
- Teeth covered with veneers are indistinguishable from natural teeth, so they require the same care. Good oral hygiene is extremely important: brush your teeth twice a day, and don’t forget to use dental floss and mouthwash.
- If you chip or otherwise damage a laminate while biting into hard food, see your dentist. It can be fixed!
