Teeth Whitening
During teeth whitening, the structure of the enamel remains intact, and the pigmented particles become lighter. During the procedure, the gums are isolated and protected from potential irritation.
Confidence. Head held high. A world of possibilities. That’s what a radiant smile can do. Do you dream of this but don’t dare to take the first step? We’re here to help!
The teeth whitening process
The clinic offers the following whitening methods: at-home whitening using whitening gel and trays; in-office whitening using the Philips ZOOM! next-generation in-office teeth whitening system.
The best results are achieved and maintained by using a combined method: in-office teeth whitening with the ZOOM! system, supplemented by at-home whitening trays.
Key differences
Bleaching with capes at home:
- Convenient for those who aren’t in a hurry: the tray is worn over the teeth during the day or at night. The at-home whitening process takes about 10 days;
- The effect is achieved using trays that fit the shape of the teeth and are filled with whitening gel;
In-office teeth whitening with the ZOOM! system:
- Ideal for those looking for quick results: white teeth after just one treatment;
- This effect is achieved using the Philips ZOOM! lamp, whose light intensity can be adjusted even during the procedure;
Teeth whitening with the Enlighten system:
- One of the most advanced teeth-whitening technologies in the world, enabling you to achieve an exceptionally light shade—even B1—for your teeth;
- Teeth whitening is performed at home using custom-made trays, making the process convenient, safe, and ensuring long-lasting results.

Philips Zoom Teeth Whitening Treatment
General Information
This is the most modern and popular method of teeth whitening, ensuring effective and safe whitening as well as long-lasting results, even with a lower-concentration whitening gel. When whitening teeth with the “PHILIPS ZOOM” system, only 6% hydrogen peroxide is used, whereas clinics typically use 20%–45% hydrogen peroxide, which can cause tooth sensitivity. This is the only in-office whitening gel that contains amorphous calcium phosphate, potassium nitrate, and fluoride. During the whitening process, these substances penetrate the tooth tissues, fill open dentin tubules, reduce tooth sensitivity, protect the enamel, and give the teeth more shine. Therefore, this whitening method is not only effective but also safe and painless.
The essence of the procedure and how it is performed
A consultation with a dental hygienist and a clinical examination are required before the teeth whitening procedure. The patient must undergo professional dental hygiene, as poor oral hygiene, inflamed, or bleeding gums can complicate the whitening procedure. The whitening procedure takes about 2 hours, depending on the color of your teeth, the duration of the consultation, and preparation. This whitening method allows for visible results in a single visit, with teeth becoming up to 8 shades lighter. When whitening teeth with this system, the hard tooth tissues are not damaged. When using the ZOOM lamp, the teeth do not overheat, so it is completely safe for the nerve tissue—the pulp. Therefore, tooth sensitivity does not occur after teeth whitening. After a professional teeth whitening procedure at the clinic, it is recommended to continue the whitening process at home using custom-made trays to lock in the color. Before you begin whitening your teeth at home, a dentist or dental hygienist will assess the color of your teeth, select the appropriate peroxide concentration, and create custom trays for you. This will allow you to enjoy excellent results for as long as possible.
How white are your teeth?
With the Philips Zoom whitening system, teeth can be whitened by up to 8 shades, but the final shade of your teeth is individual and depends on enamel thickness, natural tooth shade, age, and personal habits, so it is not possible to accurately determine or guarantee how much your teeth will whiten before the procedure. Teeth with yellowish shades whiten more and faster than those with grayish-brown or already white shades. Teeth affected by antibiotics (tetracycline), decalcified, or traumatized do not always whiten, so the whitening procedure may need to be repeated. Non-vital teeth also do not whiten; we whiten them using internal, endodontic methods.
Contraindications for teeth whitening (when teeth whitening is not recommended or will be ineffective)
Dental restorations (fillings, veneers, crowns, bridges, etc.) do not whiten. After the teeth whitening procedure, restorations can be replaced with new ones to match the new shade of your teeth. If you are planning cosmetic fillings, teeth whitening should be performed beforehand so that the dentist can select a filling color that matches your whitened teeth. Non-vital teeth that have changed color due to trauma or after endodontic treatment are whitened using endodontic teeth whitening. The teeth whitening procedure is not recommended for patients with poor oral hygiene, those with carious lesions, or those with old, leaky fillings. The procedure is also not recommended for patients with gum disease or severe systemic diseases. The teeth whitening procedure is NOT PERFORMED on pregnant or breastfeeding women or on patients under the age of 18.
