It may seem that baby teeth aren’t as important as permanent teeth, but that’s not true.

The importance of baby teeth:

  • Healthy baby teeth allow you to chew food properly and eat a healthy diet
  • Helps develop pronunciation and speaking habits

If a child loses a baby tooth too early, the permanent teeth may shift into that space and cause dental problems in the future. Therefore, schedule your child’s first visit to the dentist as early as possible.

Here are a few tips to help keep your children’s teeth healthy:

  • Preventive care is just as important for healthy children’s teeth, so we recommend scheduling your child’s first visit to the dentist shortly after their first birthday;
  • Parents should help their child brush their teeth until they are 7 or 8 years old: young children are not yet able to brush them thoroughly on their own;
  • We recommend developing healthy habits: avoid sugary drinks and foods high in sugar, as these promote tooth decay;
